Improve quality of the rural education through enhancing capacity of teachers and students in rural areas

Development strategy of the Unit

To improve the quality of education services delivered by the rural teachers, and help the students grow to be good citizens through facilitating the teachers' professional development, building the capacity and upgrading the teaching skills of rural teachers. Meanwhile, provide opportunities of education to the poor students and strengthen their capacity to adapt to the society and accomplish their own development.

Core activities of the Unit in 2007

In 2007, the core of the Unit is to work with education bureaus, schools and non-profit organizations to implement the teacher-and-student-oriented projects. During this process, concrete ideas on students' comprehensive development and teachers' professional development will be generated to reaffirm the core of the Unit in the future and the overall development strategy of the Unit. Meanwhile, the Unit will improve project process and project documentation, the project management and project monitoring and evaluation will be initiated.

Students' comprehensive development

To meet students' financial and development needs, scholarships will be provided to them to support their study, meanwhile, training of basic skills and citizenship will be provided to them.

Teachers professional development

This project deals with teachers' professional skills, psychological capacity and reflection, which aims to build their own capacity and improve teaching skills to make the students better off.

Support project

The project supports the college students to deliver training occasionally and periodically, this will bring new vision to them and outreach spirit of public benefits.
