Art Education

Art is the best means of enlightening the souls. All children should be armed with it. To make art shed light on more children from rural areas and schools for migrant workers' children, BCF and CAE sponsored training courses on art in Kunming and Lijiang respectively. About 50 teachers and 60 children have participated in the training.

Objective of the Project

（ 1 ） to train the teachers, through the training, the temporary teachers will have more interests and confidence in enlightening the souls of children by art; they will also bring children's attention to indigenous culture through local arts.

（ 2 ） to make the students and teachers to express themselves through drawing ; there is no right and wrong in art works, this will allow them to have sense of success and build confidence and capacity to reflect and observe and know how to get along with others;

（ 3 ） to invite principals and officials from education bureaus to observe the teaching and see the artworks done by the teachers and students; to encourage the teachers who received training to teach art classes.

（ 4 ） to scale up art education and build linkages among community workers, officials of education bureau, principals, teachers and students through training.

（ 5 ） the training is focusing on Holiday Greetings, which is close to local life.

Each training course will last for 8 days, which includes line, color, water color, portraits, drawing and indigenous knowledge and resources.

During the training process, the teachers studied various drawing skills and teaching methods, they indicated that they will deliver better trainings and make more children interested in arts when they go back to schools.

The students' gifts in art is the most impressive during the training, for those who never learnt drawing, they were able to make very wonderful works with trainers' tutoring.
